ABOUT KATIE
First Aid by Katie is run by Katie Finch, a Sussex-based first aid instructor with over a decade of experience working in the theatre and live entertainment industry. Before retraining in emergency healthcare, Katie worked in a wide range of roles across the performing arts, including front of house, backstage, and within producing teams at prestigious venues such as Chichester Festival Theatre, Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Birmingham Hippodrome, and the iconic London Palladium.
Katie’s career in theatre also included working with celebrated production companies like Frantic Assembly, Michael Harrison Entertainment, and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, on large-scale productions such as Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, Funny Girl starring Sheridan Smith, Benidorm Live, and pantomimes at 35 venues across the UK.
After retraining with the emergency services, Katie began working frontline in the ambulance service—bringing together real-life medical experience with a deep understanding of the entertainment world. This unique blend enables her to deliver first aid training that’s practical, engaging, and specifically tailored to the creative industries.
Katie now delivers accredited courses including Emergency First Aid at Work, First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid, Anaphylaxis Training, AED Training, and bespoke packages designed around the specific needs of theatres, production companies, events, and venues.
Her ethos is simple: first aid training should be more than just ticking a box—it should build confidence, empower individuals, and be memorable for the right reasons. That’s why all training with First Aid by Katie is interactive, industry-relevant, and delivered with energy, warmth, and professionalism.
All courses are accredited by SkillBase First Aid and meet current Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements.
