Inclusivity Policy

At First Aid by Katie, I believe that first aid is a life skill that everyone should have the opportunity to learn. My training is designed to be welcoming, inclusive and accessible, creating a positive learning environment where every participant feels respected, supported and able to succeed.

Our Commitment
I am committed to providing high-quality first aid training in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or belief, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, marital status, pregnancy or maternity, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Everyone deserves to feel comfortable, valued and respected while learning skills that could one day save a life.

Neurodiversity and Accessibility
I understand that everyone learns differently. Whether you are neurodivergent, have a disability, a learning difference, or any other access requirement, you are welcome here.

I will make every reasonable adjustment to support your learning wherever possible. This may include adapting teaching methods, providing additional breaks, allowing extra time for practical activities, supplying learning materials in advance where appropriate, or making other reasonable accommodations.

During the booking process, you will be invited to let me know about any accessibility requirements or adjustments that would help you get the most from your training. Any information you share will be treated sensitively and confidentially.

Respect in the Learning Environment
Every participant has the right to learn in an environment that is safe, supportive and free from discrimination, harassment, bullying or intimidation.

Respect for fellow learners, instructors and venue staff is always expected. Discriminatory language, behaviour or conduct will not be tolerated and may result in a participant being asked to leave the course without refund.

Inclusive First Aid Practice
First aid is for everyone. Throughout my courses, I encourage learners to provide care with compassion, dignity and respect, recognising that every casualty has different needs, beliefs, backgrounds and circumstances.

Training promotes person-centred care that respects an individual's privacy, culture, communication needs and personal choices wherever possible while delivering safe and effective first aid.

Continuous Improvement
I am committed to continually reviewing my training practices to improve accessibility and inclusivity. Feedback from learners is always welcomed and helps ensure my courses remain accessible to as many people as possible.

Contact
If there is anything I can do to make your training more accessible or if you have any questions about this policy, please get in touch before your course. I will always do my best to support your needs and provide a positive learning experience.
